About MeshKit
Why MeshKit Was Built
MeshKit was created by Oleg Ponomaryov to give 3D print farms, mechanical engineers, and independent makers a fast, transparent set of browser-native utilities without requiring cloud file uploads, user accounts, or opaque formulas.
Many online 3D printing calculators hide critical cost drivers—such as marketplace payment processing fees, machine hourly depreciation, print failure buffers, and FEP/LCD consumables on MSLA printers—or require uploading proprietary customer CAD and G-code files to a remote server. Every tool on MeshKit runs 100% inside your browser's local memory buffer using Web Workers. Your `.gcode`, `.stl`, and `.step` files never leave your device.
Core Principles
- Zero Server Uploads: All file parsing, mesh topology inspection, and CAD tessellation execute locally in your browser.
- Auditable Engineering Formulas: Every equation, polymer density, empty spool tare weight, and marketplace fee schedule is documented on our Methodology page with worked examples.
- Strict Input Guarding: MeshKit never silently substitutes invalid inputs with hidden defaults. Invalid or out-of-range parameters are flagged immediately next to the input.
